Each laser cut begins as an original pencil drawing done by myself and is then converted into a computer file and cut by machine in Perth, Western Australia.
They are cut on 200gsm jet black paper and mounted onto beautiful white 224gsm C.A. Grain pastel drawing paper.
City Architecture Laser Cuts are available in two sizes:
A3 (29.7 x 42cm)
A2 (42 x 59.4cm)
My laser cuts are ready to pop into a frame straight away. The actual laser cuts are mounted onto white backing paper using thick mounting tape, creating a slight height and texture to the laser cut. They will fit standard frames, my recommendation being the RIBBA series or similar from IKEA.
A3 - 30 x 40cm RIBAA Frame without mount OR 40 x 50cm RIBBA Frame with mount
A2 - 40 x 50cm RIBBA Frame without mount OR 50 x 70cm RIBBA Frame with mount
Custom framing adds significant effect to paper cuts and laser cuts and I recommend it whenever possible. The style I like to use is a simple black, white or wood deep set frame with the laser cut held between two sheets of glass sitting at the front. This creates a dramatic shadow on the backing card when caught in the light, highlighting the intricate nature of the artwork.
If you would like me to organise custom framing for you, please get in touch through email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Alternatively if you would like to have your laser cut custom framed with your own framer please let me know and I can refrain from mounting it to make it easy for you.
A4 and A3 laser cuts are posted flat between cardboard for protection.
A2 laser cuts are posted rolled and require a little bit of love on your end. When mounted onto white card laser cuts have a habit of buckling if they are rolled. Therefore A2 laser cuts that require posting are only mounted halfway. This ensures they hold their place on the backing paper but will need to be flattened out under some heavy weights and then mounted the rest of the way with the double sided tape provided. Instructions are included and it's an easy process so don't let this deter your order.
Laser cuts that are in stock are posted within 2-3 business days and laser cuts that need to be ordered may take up to a week before posting. All parcels will be issued a tracking number which you can keep tabs on as often as you like. Please refer to postage information upon checkout for more details on pricing and delivery time options.
